Members of churches of Christ form independent congregations of believers who go to the Scriptures to learn what the church was like in the beginning. We then attempt to restore today the essence of the church community. For that reason, we use the Bible as our only authoritative source of practices and beliefs. In this way we attempt to be people with a restoration spirit. You will find us trying to be simply “Christians” rather than emphasizing a denominational affiliation.
We believe that God has created the universe and that he has left a vibrant grace-filled message of forgiveness and reconciliation for all people. The heart of this message is Jesus who died that we might have life. This good news is summarized by the Apostle Paul as follows: I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (NLT)
